Our Farm History
Leonard Clarke was the father, grandfather and great grandfather to us who are now running the farm. He was the 6th Generation Clarke farming these hills. He is the “L M CLARKE” on our apple bins.
Here is a short video he made when he was around 99 years old. Where he tells the history of the farm, electricity and the first cold storage and more. Please enjoy.
Come for the Views.
Come out to big sky country. Enjoy the rolling hills and wide open spaces…more
Stay for the apples.
We grow over 50 varieties. We probably have your favorite. And an apple cannon and…more
Shoot apples out of a cannon.
1980’s Japanese TV Game Show showed up at the farm. If you speak Japanese then the joke works much better.
What is your favorite apple cider donut?
Personally I like apple cider donuts plain. But the crowd favorite is the cinnamon and brown sugar apple cider donut. Go figure!

Food Truck
We like cooking. Currently we are experimenting with some tasty ideas and would love for you to try them. Here are potato pancakes with sour cream over grilled apple slices. Yes. They are pretty good.
A Legacy in Every Bottle
What truly distinguishes HVO is the Clarke family heritage that imbues every bottle.
Rooted in the fertile soil of the Hudson Valley, our orchards have been family-owned and operated since 1817.
Each apple used in our brandy is carefully cultivated and harvested from trees we’ve nurtured for generations.
This hands-on, farm-to-bottle approach ensures that you’re not just enjoying a fine spirit; you’re savoring a piece of our family’s legacy, refined into a spirit that marries tradition with modern enjoyment.
Our Tasting room
2025 is the year when we will open our tasting room. Really. We mean it this time.
